Great Fun and Great Exercise for the Mind and the Body

What is Round Dancing?

It is dancing to choreographed routines for various pieces of music while a cuer says the figure or pattern that should be done next. The cues tell you the figure (group of steps) to do next so the leader has no need to determine what figure to do.  With a cuer saying the figures, both partners know the next figure to dance.  All of the dancers are doing the same figure at the same time.

The choreographed dances may be two-step, waltz, foxtrot, rumba, cha cha, jive or swing, tango, bolero, and others.

Clothing/Shoes

Comfortable clothing that you can move freely in is recommended.  It is easier on the body to dance in shoes with flat leather soles or indance shoes with leather or suede soles.

Benefits of Dance

Dance is a fun way to get out and get moving.  To get some fun exercise!  Listening to and moving to music is good for the mind, body, and soul.
